The School of Engineering and Sciences, GD Goenka University, successfully organised an insightful seminar on “CompTIA Cyber Security Pathways: Skills, Certifications and Career Opportunities” on 1st October 2026, bringing students closer to emerging career opportunities in cybersecurity and the rapidly evolving technology landscape.

The session featured Mr. Pradipto Chakrabarty, Regional Director (India & South Asia), CompTIA Inc., who shared valuable insights drawn from his 25 years of industry experience. As a gesture of appreciation and warm welcome, Prof. (Dr.) Vikas Thada, Dean, School of Engineering and Sciences, felicitated the distinguished guest with a traditional planter presentation.

He highlighted the growing demand for skilled professionals across cybersecurity, IT infrastructure, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and other emerging digital domains. A key focus of the session was on CompTIA’s globally recognised, vendor-neutral certifications and how professional credentials can complement academic learning, bridge the academia–industry skill gap, and help students prepare for opportunities in the global IT ecosystem.

The interactive Q&A session enabled students to engage directly with the industry expert on career planning, certification pathways, future job roles and industry-relevant skills, providing practical guidance for aspiring technology professionals.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Yogesh Kumar, acknowledging the valuable contribution of the guest speaker and enthusiastic participation of the students.
