As part of World Mental Health Week (10–16 October 2026), the School of Liberal Arts, GD Goenka University, organised an expert session on “Toxic Positivity and Mental Health” on 14 October 2026, featuring Dr. Roma Kumar, Co-Chairperson (Psychology), Institute for Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.

The session explored how toxic positivity can invalidate emotions and create pressure to appear happy, even during difficult times. Students gained valuable insights into emotional validation, empathy, and the importance of acknowledging and accepting difficult emotions.
