The School of Law, GD Goenka University organized an enriching guest lecture on 1 April 2026 on the theme of “Women Empowerment” for the students of BA LL.B. (Hons.). The session was delivered by Dr. B. Rajeshwari, who is associated with Azad Foundation. The lecture aimed to provide students with practical insights into women empowerment initiatives, policy-making processes, and the role of non-governmental organizations in promoting gender equality and social justice.

During the session, Dr. Rajeshwari shared her experiences and expertise in the field of policy advocacy and grassroots empowerment. She discussed the importance of inclusive policy-making and highlighted how organizations working at the grassroots level contribute significantly towards creating opportunities for marginalized women. The lecture focused on the practical challenges faced by women in society and the need for sustainable measures to ensure their social and economic independence.

A major highlight of the session was the discussion on the initiatives undertaken by Azad Foundation, particularly the “Women on Wheels” programme.
