The School of Law, GD Goenka University, Gurugram, is hosting a two-day international hybrid conference on 10–11 April 2026 bringing together leading scholars, policymakers, practitioners, and researchers working on Geographical Indications (GIs). The conference will explore how institutions, digital technologies, entrepreneurship, and community participation shape the governance and economic potential of GI products.

Through keynote addresses, expert panels, and peer-reviewed paper presentations, the event will examine contemporary issues such as GI protection in international trade, digital traceability and blockchain in certification systems, GI-driven rural entrepreneurship, and the social and cultural impact of GI regimes on local communities.

Positioned as one of the first interdisciplinary platforms focusing simultaneously on the institutional, technological, economic, and social dimensions of GI governance, the conference aims to foster meaningful dialogue and collaboration between academia, industry, and policy stakeholders in India and globally.
