NEER: BEYOND THE SURFACE
An Exhibition Display by the Semester-6 Students of Visual Communication
This exhibition follows the course of the River Yamuna and its tributaries, the Hindon River and Sahibi River, as they move through the Delhi NCR region, bringing together fragments of water, memory, life, and shifting landscapes. Moving between presence and absence, flow and residue, the exhibition opens up a space to experience what gathers along the edges of a river.
Tracing these interconnected water bodies, NEER reflects on the ways rivers shape cities, communities, ecologies, and everyday life, while also carrying histories of neglect, transformation, and survival. Through layered narratives, textures, sounds, and visual traces, the exhibition invites viewers to look beyond the visible surface of water and engage with the hidden systems, memories, and relationships that continue to exist within and around these rivers.
Rather than presenting the river as a fixed landscape, NEER approaches it as a living, changing entity, one that holds stories of movement, coexistence, loss, and renewal.
