Online session on “Entrepreneurship and Job Scenario of the Biotechnology Sector in India”

On 26 December 2025, the Department of Basic and Applied Sciences, in association with the Institutional Innovation Council (IIC), conducted an informative online session titled “Entrepreneurship and Job Scenario of the Biotechnology Sector in India” for undergraduate and postgraduate students of microbiology and biotechnology.

The session was delivered by Mr. Mayank Raj Bhardwaj, CEO & Founder, Rapture Biotech International Pvt. Ltd., who highlighted the growing significance of biotechnology in healthcare, agriculture, diagnostics, and industrial applications. He also discussed the key government initiatives, including BioE3 – Economy, Environment, and Employment. Mr. Mayank addressed students’ concerns regarding skills and employability, and encouraged them to focus on domain specialization. The session was concluded with an interactive Q&A on career opportunities and entrepreneurship.

The session was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy, Dean, and was attended by Prof. (Dr.) Anindita Roy Choudhury, Assistant Dean, Prof. (Dr.) Naresh Sharma, Head, DBAS, Prof. (Dr.) Seema Mishra, Chairperson – CARE, along with other faculty members. The event was efficiently coordinated by Dr. Anil Kumar, Associate Professor, and Dr. Raunak Dhanker, Associate Professor.
