Orientation Programme 2026 | School of Engineering and Sciences (SoES)
Place: GD Goenka University
Date: August 2026
The School of Engineering and Sciences (SoES) successfully organised its Orientation Programme in August 2026, warmly welcoming newly admitted students and introducing them to the academic, social and professional environment of the University.
The programme began on an inspiring note as the students were warmly welcomed by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dinesh Shenoy, who addressed the new cohort and encouraged them to embrace their university journey with curiosity, confidence and a commitment to learning and personal growth.
The six-day programme offered a well-rounded introduction to university life through interactions with the Dean and faculty members, mentor introductions, laboratory and facility visits, along with orientation to ERP/Digii Campus, library resources, programme structure, student clubs, committees and student support systems.
Mentoring and community engagement remained key highlights, with sessions on Universal Human Values, student aspirations, family expectations, friendships and peer pressure. Activities centred on “Towards a Sustainable World and Viksit Bharat 2047 Targets” included group discussions, presentations, creative sketching and a plantation drive, promoting sustainability and responsible citizenship.
Students also actively participated in literary, cultural, sports and creative activities, including painting, music, dance, reading, writing and debate. The programme concluded on an energetic note with NSS, sports and student-engagement activities, including the “Find the Clue, Claim the Treasure” Treasure Hunt and a DJ session, fostering teamwork, peer connections and a strong sense of belonging.
The SoES Orientation Programme 2026 marked a vibrant beginning to the students’ journey of learning, innovation, collaboration and holistic growth.
