Organized by the Department of Physiotherapy, School of Healthcare & Allied Sciences, GD Goenka University, this Sports Day was held on Saturday, 12 September 2026, at the university campus as part of World Physiotherapy Day 2026 celebrations. The event aimed to promote physical fitness, active lifestyles, and healthy competition among students. A variety of sports were featured, including Cricket and Volleyball for male students, and Tug of War and Badminton for female students. Beyond the games themselves, the event emphasized the importance of teamwork, leadership, and togetherness, creating a day filled with energy, enthusiasm, and camaraderie. Interested students could register through designated faculty coordinators — Dr. Ashi Saif and Dr. Anshu Sharma for female participants, and Dr. Vishwajeet Trivedi and Dr. Tabish Fahim for male participants. The event directly supports SDG 3 by promoting physical activity and fitness among students, SDG 4 by fostering essential soft skills such as teamwork and leadership outside the classroom, and strongly aligns with SDG 5 by ensuring equal participation opportunities through dedicated sporting events for both male and female students.
