The Impact Ranking
Clean Water And Sanitation
GD Goenka University is strongly committed to promoting SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation through sustainable infrastructure, research initiatives, and capacity-building activities that address water security and hygiene challenges.

The campus follows a regulated groundwater extraction system supported by a centralized RO plant, ensuring that all drinking water is treated and safe. Advanced UVF purification units and digital TDS meters are installed across hostels and academic buildings to ensure continuous monitoring and a high-quality water supply.
This infrastructure provides safe drinking water to over 2,000 students daily, reflecting the university’s commitment to responsible resource management. Beyond infrastructure, the university integrates sustainable practices by using purified water in hydroponics and polyhouse agriculture, enhancing water-use efficiency and promoting modern cultivation techniques.
Regular awareness programs on water conservation, sanitation, and hygiene are conducted for students and nearby communities, extending the university’s impact beyond campus.
Academically, GD Goenka University offers several courses directly aligned with SDG 6, including Environmental Studies, Water and Wastewater Management, Environmental Biotechnology, Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Food Safety and Standards, Microbiology, Hydroponic Technology, and Sustainable Agriculture Systems.
