International Mother Language Day

“A different language is a different vision of life.” , Federico Fellini

Language helps us express our feelings and thoughts, helps preserve cultures, and it also allows us to learn about others and spread ideas quickly. With that sentiment in mind, International Mother Language Day was celebrated by the Department of Education, School of Humanities,Social Sciences and Education on 21st February 2023.The celebration started with a speech by the head of the department Dr.Parvesh Lata, highlighting the importance of mother language.

To mark the occasion, a speech competition in mother tongue was organized among the students.The competition was well received and saw participation from all streams of DoEd, but at last following students emerged as winners:-

1)Preeti (B.Ed-SEM-2)

2)Rajshree Sahai (B.Ed-SEM-2)

3)Harjot Kaur (B.Ed-SEM-2)

The competition was judged by the faculty of Hindi Mrs. Sangeeta Sharma.She congratulated the winners and facilitated them with certificates. She praised other participants for their efforts and enthusiasm and motivated students for more participation next time. The programme concluded with vote of thanks by co-curricular in-charge Dr.Sunita Sehrawat.
