Dr. Anitha Arvind serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Optometry at G.D. Goenka University. With over two decades of multifaceted experience in academia, clinical practice, administration, and optometric education, she has played pivotal roles in leadership, mentorship, curriculum development, and national-level professional organizations. She is also the Secretary/Treasurer on the Board of Directors of IACLE. Her work demonstrates a seamless integration of clinical expertise, innovation, and research excellence.
Publications: 10+ peer-reviewed research articles in journals including The Lancet Healthy Longevity, Contact Lens and Anterior Eye, and Indian Journal of Ophthalmology.
Research Interests: Contact lens induced dry eye (CLIDE), Lid Wiper Epitheliopathy, Ortho-K practice in India, Paediatric vision therapy, Presbyopia care.
Books/Book Chapters: Editor of “Recent Advances in Optometric Sciences”; Author/co-author of 3 book chapters, including in Optometry in South-East Asia.
Patents: 5 patents filed in 2023–2024 including innovations in dry eye assessment, slit lamp imaging, and retinoscopy devices.
Conferences: Presented at numerous national and international conferences including VISION 2020, APOC, AIOC, and EIVOC; Multiple awards for best paper/poster presentations
