Dr. Prerna Sharma is currently working as Associate Director for “AVISHKAR” Centre of Innovation and Incubation (CII) and also as Assistant Professor – II in School of Engineering and Sciences, GD Goenka University, Gurugram, India.

Prior to taking up the current role in 2014, Dr. Prerna Sharma served as Assistant Professor in Chandigarh University (CU) Mohali, Punjab.

Dr. Prerna Sharma have professional experience of 12 years in the field of Environmental Engineering and Solid Waste Management. Her current research area includes performance evaluation and monitoring of STP’s and technologies used for sewage treatment. She has taught subjects related to the environmental allied field like Soil and Water Conservation Engineering, Renewable Energy and Technology, Irrigation Engineering, Environmental Impact Analysis, Environmental Engineering, Research Methodology and Biostatistics, Disaster Management, Pollution Control & Monitoring, Municipal Solid Waste: Engineering Principles & Management, Industrial Waste Management, and Fundamentals of Agronomy and Design Thinking. Dr. Prerna Sharma is also acting as an Editorial Board member in journals related to Civil and Environmental Engineering and is actively involved in the event management activities like workshops/industrial visit/conferences etc.

Dr. Prerna Sharma received the “Excellence in Teaching” Award at the Indian Eminent Award 2025 by the Institute for Social Reforms and Higher Education Charitable Trust (ISRHE), the International Association of Research and Developed Organization (IARDO), and Tirumala Engineering College, Andhra Pradesh (NAAC A+ Accredited) for this esteemed recognition, organized under the guidance of NITI Aayog, Government of India. She was awarded with “Award of Honor from: AKHIL BHARTIYA VIDYARTHI PARISAD” for securing first position in M.Sc by Panjab University, Chandigarh. Dr. Prerna Sharma is also awarded by the “Best Teacher’’ Award from School of Engineering and Sciences on 5th Sept, 2022 for the academic year 2021-2022, GD Goenka University. She also received the “Outstanding Teaching Faculty’’ Award on 15th Sept 2021 (Engineer’s Day Celebration) for the academic year 2020-2021 in School of Engineering and Sciences, GD Goenka University.
