School of Engineering and Sciences Organizes Industry Visit to IBM India, Noida

The School of Engineering and Sciences organized an industry visit to IBM India Pvt. Ltd., Noida, on 30 October 2025 for students of B.Tech Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, in collaboration with the IBM Innovation Centre for Education (ICE). The exposure on AI, Deep Learning, Transformer Models, AWS Migration, and Agentic AI offered valuable insights into the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence and its real-world industry applications.

Mr. Viqaruddin Surki, Delivery Head, IBM ICE, India gave an inspiring talk on the importance of industry-academic collaborations in promoting AI education. He outlined how IBM and AWS are working cohesively to offer cutting-edge technology solutions for future engineers and developers.

Mr. Deepak Kumar, Senior Sales Manager at IBM India, briefed the students on IBM’s mission and operational framework, highlighting the company’s leadership in Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing, and software development. He emphasized the transformative role of AI in modern industries, illustrating IBM’s solutions address complex business challenges and enhance decision-making, particularly in areas such as finance, cloud migration, and automation. Mr. Anil Kumar, Senior AI Engineer at IBM India, introduced the fundamentals of Agentic AI, explaining autonomous decision-making systems and demonstrating IBM Watson to automate tasks and solve real-world problems.

Mukesh Maharana, Program Manager at IBM India, and Mr. Ashish Chitale, Senior Consultant at IBM India, discussed various applications of Deep Learning and Transformer Models in industries like finance, particularly in automating customer services, decision-making systems, and financial transaction analysis.

The visit also included a tour to IBM’s Office, where students explored IBM's real-time AI-powered solutions and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to automate cloud migrations, data security and operational efficiency.

The visit was successfully conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) K. Thammi Reddy, Dean and Dr. Akhilesh Latoria, Head of Department, and fully organized by Dr. Manu Banga, Assistant Professor.
