The School of Law, GD Goenka University is pleased to announce that the provisional registrations for the VIII GD Goenka – CIArb International Commercial Arbitration Moot Competition 2026 are now open. The prestigious competition will be held offline from 25 September to 27 September 2026 and will focus on the contemporary theme of “Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)”.
This flagship event of the School of Law is being organized in collaboration with the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution. The competition aims to provide law students with a platform to develop and showcase their advocacy, research, drafting, and arbitration skills in the field of international commercial arbitration.
The moot proposition and official brochure will be released shortly. The competition is expected to witness participation from leading law schools and universities across India and abroad, encouraging intellectual exchange and excellence in dispute resolution practices.
The Provisional Registration Deadline is 15 June 2026. The registration fee for the competition is INR 12,000 / USD 125, which shall be payable during the final registration process. The final registration link will be shared subsequently.
The competition also offers an exciting Prize Pool of INR 6,00,000+ recognizing excellence in advocacy, legal reasoning, and arbitration practice.
Eligibility: Undergraduate or postgraduate student of law from any recognized institution
Team Composition: Three members – Two speakers and one researcher

The School of Law warmly invites institutions and students to participate in this prestigious international moot competition and engage in meaningful deliberations on evolving issues in commercial arbitration and ESG governance.
We cordially invite law schools across the globe to provisionally register for the competition. Please note that you are not required to pay the registration fee during provisional registration.

The Moot Proposition shall be released soon. The problem deals with substantive and procedural aspects of ESG in International Commercial Arbitration.
The Advisory Committee comprises distinguished arbitration practitioners, academicians, and members of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), India Branch. Details to be announced.
