Amit Kumar is an RCI-registered Clinical Psychologist with expertise in psychotherapy, psychological assessments, and mental health interventions.
His experience spans across working with children, adults, and older adults. Prior to joining academia, he worked as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist at Emoneeds, where he conducted psychological assessments, case history evaluations, Mental Status Examinations (MSE), and psychotherapy. He received clinical training from prestigious hospitals, including Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital, Lady Hardinge Medical College, and Janakpuri Super Specialty Hospital in Delhi. He specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Behavior Therapy, and Sex Therapy, with extensive experience in treating depression, anxiety disorders, OCD, personality disorders, bipolar disorder, and other emotional and behavioral conditions.
His research interests include Borderline Personality Disorder, Trauma, and Sexual Disorders. He presented his study on "Role of Cognitive Reserve in Executive Function and Metacognition of Individuals Suffering from Stroke" at the 48th NACIACP Conference (2022) and received the Best Paper Award for his work. Currently, as an Assistant Professor, he is committed to training future psychologists, conducting research, and providing psychotherapy to enhance mental health awareness and treatment outcomes.
