The Centre for Conflict Resolution (CCR) is committed to transforming how disputes are addressed, with a strong emphasis on alternative resolution mechanisms such as arbitration, mediation, and negotiation. It fosters a culture of constructive dialogue through hands-on training, simulated exercises, and community engagement. The Centre will facilitate dispute resolution through its Institutional Arbitration and Mediation Centre while also hosting workshops, international competitions, and policy discussions to equip students and professionals with practical skills. Collaborations with organizations like the Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation (IIAM) enhance research opportunities and contribute to easing judicial backlogs. This initiative is instrumental in preparing a generation of legal professionals capable of handling complex disputes with empathy and efficiency.

Head of Centre’s Message

The Indian judicial system has been actively seeking a feasible conflict resolution mechanism to reduce the mammoth pendency of cases in courts.

The objective of conflict resolution is to achieve a mutually agreeable settlement that meets the satisfaction of all parties concerned, without resorting to formal court proceedings, thereby creating a win-win situation for both the parties. The aim of the Centre for Conflict Resolution (CCR), established by School of Law, GD Goenka University is the advancement of research, scholarship, education and training in the fields of arbitration, mediation and negotiation. The CCR represents a collaborative effort by the School of Law GD Goenka University and Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation (IIAM). The Centre aspires to cultivate a generation of legal practitioners who prioritize harmony, empathy, and innovative problem-solving in their approach to conflict resolution.
