Achievements
Scalable Furniture: From Concept to Creation
The Scalable Furniture project provided students with invaluable hands-on experience in full-scale furniture model-making, both in-house and within the industry. This immersive exploration focused on the mechanisms and systems used in designing multifunctional furniture for modern built environments.
Students began with concept development, delving into ideas around volume, form, function, and material. These explorations were then transformed into comprehensive design concepts, supported by detailed technical drawings that outlined materials, joinery, and assembly techniques.
The culmination of the project was the creation of a physical model, showcasing the functionality and adaptability of the furniture system. This model not only demonstrated the working mechanism but also addressed stakeholder needs and contextual requirements, offering a thoughtful and practical design solution.
